Monthly meetings are held at Gunthorpe Village Hall, at the end of David’s Lane, on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm.

Interesting speakers are engaged for most meetings covering many topics, details of these are published on this Web Page, Parish Magazine and Village newsletter.
Various W.I. group events are also attended.

If any ladies would like to join us or would just like to come and see what we do we would be delighted and you are assured of very warm welcome.

November News from Gunthorpe W. I.

We celebrated Gunthorpe W.I.’s true 80th birthday with a meal at Tom Brown’s. We had a lovely meal and Robin looked after us very well. Complimentary tea and coffee was provided.

We are once again delighted to have attracted lots of new members to our meetings and our meal at Tom Brown’s. We of course hope that they will become members in the New Year.

December News from Gunthorpe W.I.

18 members met in the Village Hall for our December meeting, our talk this month was given by Ann Hough who presented a very interesting and thought provoking account of hers and David’s journey to the Holy Land.

Our President Jenn Bentley addressed the meeting and hoped that we would all have a happy Christmas. We will continue our quest for new members with vigour in the New Year and hope that new members will come forward. Our next meeting, January 20th in St John’s Church , will be in the form of a faith supper.

A sub committee has been formed, headed by Pip Milbourne, to look at programme planning with the aim to secure varied and interesting speakers; hopefully something for everyone.

Our January meeting took the form of a Faith Supper and Social Evening. This was held at St John’s in the church room. Pip Milbourne compiled a Quiz for us, which we all enjoyed.

Our February meeting was our last meeting prior to the A.G.M. in March. We were delighted that five visitors have now officially joined us boosting our numbers to 24.
Ruth Taylor was our speaker for the evening. Ruth is an ex nurse who now practices Precision Reflexology. She gave us a short talk about the origins and benefits of Reflexology and then went on to give a demonstration of her skills. Two members were lucky enough to have a very good and relaxing foot massage.
