Gunthorpe FC on course for the title

Gunthorpe FC are on course to take the league title this season after a crucial victory over local rivals Lowdham United recently. Having now strung 9 victories together in a row, it is likely that Gunthorpe will now regain their status in the top division of the Newark Football Alliance since relegation in 2006.

In addition, they have followed-up their Sam Arnold Trophy win last season by securing their place in the Willie Hall Cup final. The opponents will be Lowdham Utd, to be held at Newark Flowserve on 10th May 2009 at 2pm.

Gunthorpe Football Club currently play in the First Division of the Newark Amateur Alliance. They play their home games at Davids Lane on Sunday mornings, kicking off at 10.30am.

Gunthorpe FC are the main team in Gunthorpe, with the Veterans, who play matches on Sunday afternoons.

Having been relegated from the Senior Division in 2006, Gunthorpe FC narrowly missed out on for promotion from Division One in the 2007/08 season.
